DAY 8 NO WORK

I had a list of things to do today and I got to some of them.  I invoiced my client (if you read this blog you know this is one of my least favorite tasks).

I contacted Jansport to find out if I can return my backpack under the unlimited warranty.  Well, the unlimited warranty is limited.  Natural decline is not covered.  I have had this backpack for so long the insides are declining before the outsides show any wear and tear.  In other words, the backpack looks practically brand new but the insides are sticky from the deterioration of the fabric from age.  So, I can either buy a new backpack now on sale or wait until the sale is over and use a code they gave me and save $3 more than the sale price.  I am thinking it over.  Is it worth $3 to wait and potentially lose or forget the code?  I may just get the backpack now.  I can not use the code and the sale price, I checked.  I can always but one now to replace and save the code (which is good for 1 year) and buy another at another time.  The options!

I also found out yesterday that Hulu/Roku did another upgrade and now my old Roku box does not get Hulu anymore.  It is the Roku in my exercise area.  I was disappointed because I wanted to watch something while I worked out and could not because I only saw a message on the screen that said Hulu is no longer supported.  Today I ordered another Roku. I had to order an upgraded Roku than the one I wanted that worked with my OLD TV.  The Roku that worked with my old TV they must not be making anymore because there was one in stock and it was going for $99.  What?!  So I got the newer Roku for $29 and bought the apparatus to hook it up to the old TV for $16.  Now I can watch what I want when I workout.

I have been sticking to the five days a week workout.  If I have to workout five days a week, I want to watch what I want.   That isn't asking for much.

Until tomorrow...

DAY 7 NO WORK

Yes, I skipped Day 6 No Work.  I was so excited that I fixed my blinds since it was hot outside and the smoke was back that I forgot to write Day 6 No Work.

The weather was better today.  The smoke cleared out for the day but will return.  I was able to walk on the treadmill. I used a program for the first time.  It had me going up hills and down valleys.  It made the walk more interesting.  I watched an organizing show on Netflix.

I played Election Bingo during the debates.  In case you have never played it, there are bingo boards on the internet.  I got a board that had Biden and Trump on each side.  Each square had different things each person says.  You cross the square out when the person says it.  I got bingo on the Biden board.  Yay!  It is random and I could have just as easily gotten bingo on the Trump side or not gotten bingo at all.  It just made the debate more interesting.

Until tomorrow...

GOOGLING HOW TO DO SOMETHING

I used someone's advice and I googled "how to fix something" and the advice worked!  My front blinds have been stuck at about 1/2 way for years.  Someone was house sitting and didn't know how to use blinds, I guess, and they pulled the blinds and they got stuck.  I should be thankful that they didn't tug too hard and break the string.  I thought I was going to have to get the company to come in and restring them.  Today I used "the Google" as a family member says and watched a video from the company on how to get the blinds to come all the way down.  It worked! The woman on the video was right.  I now have functioning blinds again and on a hot day I am happy.

You might say "open a window if it is hot". I would but the smoke is back.  It was in the orange zone this morning when I took Lucky out to pee and breathed in a couple of breaths and proceeded to have a coughing fit.  Yes, I smelled the smoke but I didn't think it was that bad.  It was.  So, we are back to closed windows on a hot day.  No, my purifier did not arrive and I need to track it down.  Seems that is lost in the Amazon network.

Until tomorrow...

GRILL FIX AND A NEW VR HEADSET

What a day! I had a zoom with my friends and I sat outside while I chatted. Then I laid in my hammock while Lucky and I played fetch. Or at least Lucky’s version of fetch. She hates to bring the ball all the way back. It is an improvement from when she joined the family, then she would just run off with the ball and chew on it. Now she gets the ball and brings it 2/3 of the way back and drops it. Then I have to coax her to bring it closer and she brings it to just about beyond where you can reach. Then I have to give her a cookie. No cookie, no ball.

I spoke to my brother E and he helped me take the propane tank off my big grill and put it on my little vegan grill. It was a success! He was very patient. Then he helped me problem solve the backyard electricity problem and I think he figured it out. I think one of the GFIs is broken. I can’t push the buttons in but the light is on and it looks like it is fine. I think this is the culprit. It is electrician time.

I love that I am getting my backyard paradise all set just in time for winter. Ha ha.

My VR Headset arrived right before dinner. I couldn’t wait to try it out. It is the type that works off your phone not a computer. It took awhile to figure it out because the directions were not too good. But then I got it to work and I saw a few places in Turkey. A lovely ancient bath. Then I had go feed Lucky. I will play with it some more tomorrow.

Until tomorrow...

NEW FOUNTAIN

I am so excited.  I have really missed having my pond in the backyard.  I don't miss the work a pond takes.  I missed the sound of the water bubbling and trickling.  Since I filled in the pond, there has been no water trickling.  A few days ago I saw a fountain on sale and I bought it.  It is cheesy but it is cute.  Today I plugged it in and wouldn't you know it, the electrical outlet near the fountain doesn't work.   The other outlet further away doesn't work.  I have a lot of outlets in my backyard due to having a pond and hot tub (neither of which I have any longer).  I took an extension cord and ran it to a plug that works and the fountain started bubbling.

I laid on my hammock with a smoothy and a book, listening to the bubbling and trickling and watching a hummingbird go from blossom to blossom on my lemon tree.  It was a wonderful way to spend an hour on a sunny afternoon.

Until tomorrow...

DAY 5 NO WORK

This was a full day.  I woke up and did my Friday trip to the USPS post box.  This is the last week I have mail forwarding so next week I should have more mail and less missing mail!  Then I did my whole strip down and take a shower/put my items in the UV zapper.  I had a webinar and then I did my workout on the stationary bike.  I tried a new thing.  I put in a program and it was SO much harder.  It puts in hills and valleys and even though I biked fewer miles, I worked so much harder.

In the afternoon I had a Mexican art class.  I made an Amate art piece.

What is “Amates”?

Amate paper, from the Nahuatl word ‘amatl’, is a type of bark paper which dates back to pre-Hispanic times in Mexico. It is an indigenous papermaking tradition that survives in the small village of San Pablito in Puebla. During the pre-Hispanic period, amate was used for different purposes such as, ritual offerings, payment of tributes and as a surface for the elaboration of codices. Amate paintings are made in brown and white bark. Brown paper usually features colourful paintings, made with acrylic colours, depicting flowers, birds, deer or rabbits and every day stories from the community such as fishing, hunting and harvesting. The white amate paper is used in more intricate drawings made with pen and ink representing stories of the community life.

It may not look like much but I worked very hard on this.  Of course I did not have a ficus tree that I cut down and dried the bark to make paper so I used a paper bag.  I also used crayons and have no idea how to draw woodland creatures.  I can barely draw a flower!  Here is my version of an Amate art piece.  It was fun to do something different and something out of my comfort zone.

I made something new for dinner Spanish Spinach with Chickpeas.  It was super simple and took 20 minutes. It took longer to sort, clean and cut the spinach than to make the dish. Next time I would use the smoked paprika for a different taste.  It was really tasty as a side dish.  I have plenty left for one or two days.

Until tomorrow...

DAY 4 NO WORK

I may not have had "work" but I worked very hard tonight with my brother C.  We finished off my computer list.  It took a few more hours on the phone to fix the problems I have been having for months.  My desktop now has gibibytes of memory just by moving some files!  My security cameras now are set with the right video set up.  I have the newest Windows on all my computers.  I got rid of the annoying dropbox folders that a client put on my computer.  I am so happy right now.  All of my annoyances are fixed and it only cost me less than $150 and my brother's time.

My brother and I get to hangout while we do all this stuff so I consider it sister/brother time also.

Now I get to bother another brother to fix a light and another brother to fix my grill.  Then most of my annoyances will be gone and out of my hair.

Until tomorrow...

DAY 3 NO WORK

Today was much better.  Last night I scheduled my day.  I woke up to a webinar about Politics in the Workplace.  Riveting!  Then I did a few things before Lucky left for the park.  Then I worked out and ate lunch.  I had a zoom group meeting in the late afternoon about Employee Handbooks.  I quickly ate and then got on a zoom class for foster parents.  I think I made up for yesterday's non-productive day.

I think scheduling my day is the way to go.  By scheduling my day I stuck to a plan and didn't get so distracted.  Since tomorrow I don't have many things planned, I already planned my day.

Until tomorrow...

DAY 2 NO WORK

Day 2 of no work.  I exercised again and took care of a few things around the house.  I washed a blanket and picked out my brother's birthday card.  I updated the calendar that I have on my fireplace.  So, basically stuff.  I had a meeting in the afternoon.

That was my day.  I really have to set a schedule.

Until tomorrow...

LONG LIST OF THINGS I WANT TO DO

Today was a weird day.  My client decided that I have become redundant for the next month a half and maybe more so I will be free to do other things.  If the weather was better I would do my staycation but right now there are no sunny days and clean air.  I am thinking of taking a vegan cooking class.  Once my foster kid gets his stuff out of my garage, I can clean it out.  There are so many things I want to do.  I have a long list.

No time to let grass grow under my feet!

Until tomorrow...

GREAT TOFU DISH

I had to have the windows and doors closed again today.  The air is no longer green, it has turned to yellow.  Tonight it has started to smell like smoke in the air.  I am sure these fires will slow down and end soon, I hope.

I made a new recipe today. Tofu Green Bean Stir Fry.  It was super delicious with brown rice.  The fresh green beans were so crisp and the tofu crisped up nicely. The sauce is what made the dish.  I forgot to put the red pepper flakes by accident but will not next time.

Until tomorrow...

ON THE BASIS OF SEX

I watched "On the Basis of Sex" today in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.  I had been putting off watching this movie and RBG for a long time.  I still have to watch RBG.  It was a great movie and I see why people liked it.

Then at 7:30pm my friend S and I logged on and watched a play that was recorded and we had a limited time to log in and watch.  We synchronized our watching so we could text back and forth.  I used my chromecast to watch it on my TV from my computer.  It was a super funny play about some 20 somethings who were gamers and their love lives.  I didn't understand much of the gamer speak but it was super humorous about the love stuff.  We both enjoyed it.  We are signed up for two more plays.  They are all "plays in the time of Covid-19".  It is interesting how creative people can get.

Until tomorrow...

SHANAH TOVAH

 Shanah Tovah Umetukah

I got my food delivery yesterday and today.  A bunch of food was not available for delivery.  This is why I usually get delivery during the middle of the week and not on the weekend.  I will have to do another delivery soon.  It was good to get some things I wanted like I got some little cucumbers and portobello mushrooms.  Just something different for a change.  I want to grill the portobello mushrooms but I may have to grill them inside since my propane tank ran out and my other tank is downstairs.  I was going to bring it upstairs but the air is going to be bad again and everything is covered with ash.

I referred my friend's company and she gave me a $100 gift card.  I went right out and bought two things I have had my eye on.  A cover for my upstairs grill and a little fountain for my backyard.  I miss having bubbling water in my backyard since I filled in the pond.  Maybe this fountain will help me get my bubble sound while I lay on my hammock. We will see. If I ever get to be outside again with this smoke...

Until tomorrow...

LOCK BOX KIND OF WORKED

My veggies and fruits showed up very early this morning.  I used the lock box again and also made sure I would wake up when they arrived.  I was glad I did because the delivery guy opened the lock box, put the veggie box inside the gate, closed the gate and the lock box.  He did not scramble the code.  If you do not scramble the code, the next person could come along and get the key out and open the gate and steal anything inside the gate.  More education needs to happen.

I got all my veggies and fruits so I am ready to cook!

Until tomorrow...

HAPPY NAME DAY TO ME

The sky is clear.  The air is green.  The air is now a 9.  Last week it was a 400.  I hear it may even rain.  It is so nice to finally be able to breathe outside. Lucky was so happy outside today.  She went with the dog walker and rolled in the grass.  I guess there was something in the grass that was stinky and I had to give her a bath when she came home. Two baths in a week.

Today is my Name Day. A name day is a European thing.  It consists of celebrating a day of the year that is associated with one's given name. It is celebrated like your birthday.  Well, today is my name day.  A special day just for me.  I am going to celebrate by eating some vegan chocolate ice cream.

Today my doorbell rang and it was Amazon.  I had them drop the boxes on the steps like I always do.  I was on the phone so I just brought the boxes in after the person left and didn't look at them.  A while later I opened a box thinking it was my batteries and it wasn't.  I was confused.  It was someone else's boxes.  The boxes were delivered to my address but the label was to an address that didn't exist and to a person I never heard of.  I called Amazon (god, getting through was a nightmare) and they said they would cancel this order and contact this person and resend the items.  They said don't bother sending them back, just keep them or donate them.  What a crazy business model that it costs less to have you keep the items than have you send them back.

I know at this point you are asking WHAT DID YOU GET?  I got a set of mint green towels, a very nice door mat that says HELLO, and some Bamba floor cleaner.  The towels are not my color and are pretty thin so I will give those away or donate.  The doormat I will keep if I can't donate to fire victims. The Bamba I can use since I have all wood floors.  Not any stuff I need but I could use some of it if I can't give it away.  Happy Name Day to me!

Until tomorrow...

THE SKY IS CLEARING A BIT

I actually saw the sun today.  The air quality was a 115.  That is good.  The quality went to a Yellow.  It still isn't a Green but it isn't a Purple so we are going in the right direction!  I let Lucky go on the balcony for about 15 minutes today because she was crying. She saw the sun and wanted to go outside.

I left the items for my neighbor to put in a truck going to Oregon to the fire area.  I added some batteries that I just bought.  I figure folks may need batteries since they won't have electricity for a long time.  I can always buy more batteries.  I wish I had more to give.

Until tomorrow...

ITEMS FOR OREGON

My neighbor announced that a truck was taking items up to Oregon for people who were burned out of their homes.  There was a specific list of things that were needed.  I didn't have many of the things since I Marie Kondo'd my house about 9 months ago and got rid of a lot of stuff.

I had a few things on the list.  I had a Lego set, kid activity books, color pencils, dog toy (Lucky didn't play with it), dog diapers (leftover from Happi), people shampoo, toothpaste, dental floss, sunscreen, soap, tooth brush and deodorant. It was a little bit.  I hope it helps.

It is still orange here.  Still smells like burning tires.  Ugh.

Until tomorrow...

NOT A PRODUCTIVE DAY

I fell asleep so early last night.  I was so tired.  I guess it was the workout.

I had an early video chat with my foster son and then a video chat with my Sunday Friends.  One of my friends just bought a place in Hawaii! I am sad but happy for them.  I now have a place to vacation in Hawaii.

Then I fell asleep.  I must be pushing myself too hard.  I think this bad air is really causing people to have a hard time physically and mentally.  It is hard to have this lack of sun.  This is supposed to be our summer.  Also the air smells like burning tires.  I go out and in three breathes I start coughing.  They say we will be getting some wind and maybe rain soon.  Not soon enough.

I got an email from my Dr. saying I need to come in to his office to get a flu shot.  I am not happy about that but he doesn't want me to go to Walgreens to get it.  He thinks that will be worse.

Until tomorrow...

MET MY WEEK EXERCISE GOAL

I made my goal of working out 5 times a week again this week.  I have been thinking that at some point I have to increase the amount I am working out or will have to workout longer.  I think that point is down the road but I have to think about it now so I can mentally plan for it.

I have been changing up my workouts.  This week I road my stationary bike for 6 miles three times.  I like this workout because it is the easiest on my joints and I get to watch TV while I do it.  But with the smoke in the air, I couldn't do it all week long.  Plus I need to mix up the workouts.  I did the indoor walk DVD one day.  It is not as easy as you think.  It is one mile of walking in place but it also has hand weights and kicks and leg lifts.  It really gets me sweaty.  Then on the last day I did Zumba for 35 minutes.  I did the toning and sculpting DVD.  It uses weights and really makes me sweat.  I end up drinking lots of water.  This way I get some cardio and some weights.  I get some exercise that I sit down and some that I am standing.

Today I did a zoom with my new RA group.  We did a go around to meet each other and made a list of things to talk about since it is a new group.  It isn't in my town but they are nice to include me. They are all so nice.  Almost all of them have had RA since they were young.  I know I was diagnosed when I was in my 20's but I am convinced that I had it many years earlier.  I just ignored the symptoms or the doctors did.  I try to think what symptoms I would have had that would have sparked them into action.  Even when I had acute symptoms the first doctor I told, wouldn't send me for tests and told me "you are getting older now, you should expect these things."  It was so long ago.

Until tomorrow...

PURPLE ALERT AIR QUALITY: DON'T GO OUTSIDE AND BREATHE

No, that isn't fog, it is smoke.  Ugh.  The air quality was purple again and we were warned not to go outside.  My dog walker canceled because it was so hard to breathe outside.  Even inside it was hard to breathe sometimes.  I turned the heat off last night because I didn't want it to suck air from outside.  The news said don't take your pets outside because the air was dangerous for them to breathe. Since Lucky is still taking antibiotics for a upper respiratory infection from 2 months ago, I don't want her to get another so I am keeping her inside as much as possible.  She is not happy about it.

I made my second trip to the post office to get my mail.  There was none because I am still having it forwarded but in two weeks, that ends.  I am just getting practicing once a week.  I learned the door doesn't unlock right on time so I should not show up right at 7:30am.  I end up waiting in my car.  I think showing up 5 minutes later is a better idea.  I am still doing my whole procedure of taking everything off in the garage and putting my items like my keys in the UV machine to be zapped.  I feel it is better to be safe than sorry.

I spoke to my foster social worker today to check in.  She said the nicest thing to me. She said I was her best foster case.  I was surprised since my foster situations have not ended in permanent placement.  It was nice to hear.  I need to work on my feelings of failure.  Something to work on during Covid-19.

Until tomorrow...

YELLOW/GRAY SKIES

Today the skies were not orange, they were yellow/gray.  It reminded people of the Terminator movie.  It was just so ominous.  So blah.  It reminded me of back East in the moments before a thunderstorm when it gets that funky color in the sky, the leaves turn over, and it gets dark.  It was like that all day without the rain.

This afternoon the smoky smell came.  It smelled like burnt tires.  Then the soot came.  Where I live there isn't a lot of ash and soot but things are starting to get covered with a layer of black soot.  I took Lucky out on the deck and my sock bottoms were black.

It also got harder to breathe as the day went on.  We have air quality alerts and then worst alert I have ever seen is RED.  That means Unhealthy air: avoid outdoor exertion especially children and people with heart and lung disease.  Today they gave a PURPLE alert.  What is a PURPLE alert??  I have never heard of a PURPLE alert.  I think they just made that up because they didn't use it last year during the fires when businesses sent their employees home.  The PURPLE alert says Very Unhealthy air: everyone should avoid prolonged outdoor exertion especially those with heart and lung disease.  I guess they mean quarantine again, now from smoke!

I am turning my heat off since it will draw air from outside even though since the sun has been covered, the weather has not gotten above 60 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night.  So bizarre since it was 100 degrees a few days ago.

Today I purchased an air purifier. I used to have one years ago and I horrified with the amount of junk that it collected.  I gave up when I had two dogs because there was dandruff and fur everywhere, it was a losing battle.  Now I have only one dog and she is not a big shedding dog so it isn't as much a problem.  Plus, now there are constant fires so I thought this is the time to get a purifier for when I sleep.  If it works well, I may get another for upstairs.  Cleaning the house air filter a few days ago will help too.

I, of course, feel for the people who have lost, and will lose, their homes from the 32 fires in CA and the many fires in OR and WA.  It is a horrible situation and we need to do something about climate change.  Something is off when there are things like firenados and orange skies.

Until tomorrow...

RED SKY APOCOLYPSE

This was 9:00 am. There is no filter on these photos! When I woke up this morning at 7:50 am, I would have thought it was 4 am.  It was so dark, I thought the clocks were wrong.  Then I went outside and this is what I saw: orange-yellow sky.  It was so weird to look at.  There was no smoke just this weird haze that covered the sky and sun.  It was so cold.  It was 58 degrees outside.  So funny since it was 100 degrees just two days ago.

Then at 10:00 am I was on a zoom call and it got pitch black outside.  It was like it was the middle of the night.  My animals were confused: Lucky didn't want to get out of bed and Sunny the bird was sound asleep most of the day.

What a day!  No one is allowed to say "what else can happen this year?"  I have never seen this before. The closest I have ever seen is the first year I was here was the year the Oakland Hills fire happened. I was on a ferry going to Sausalito with a visiting friend and we didn't know the Oakland Hills were on fire.  The sky was a weird yellow/orange color and we looked over and the Hills were on fire.  It was a crazy scene.

Today the dog walker did not take Lucky because he was worried the coyotes would think it was nighttime and come out hunting in the park.  He wanted to keep Lucky safe!

Hopefully tomorrow will be better for everyone and they get the fire(s) under control. My friend A has a fire very close to her house and has her car packed and ready to go.

Until tomorrow...

WEEK ONE OF EXERCISE HABIT COMPLETE

Last week I accomplished my first week of working out 5 times a week.  I wouldn't say I was training for an ironman but I got up and either rode my stationary bike for 6 miles or did my inside walking DVD program where I walk 1 mile or 2 miles or I did Zumba for 30 minutes.  One day I put together my hammock and sweated more than riding my bike for 6 miles.

This week I am already at 2 days of working out.  I am trying to make this a habit.  It is easy when Lucky goes away because I can't take her in the garage yet, there are still rodent traps that she would love to nose around.  Once those are gone I can bring her out with me.

Until tomorrow...

LABOR DAY

On Saturday I put my new hammock together.  I got to lay on it for a little while before the hot and smokey weather came along and made it impossible.  It has been impossibly hot here.  Over 100 degrees in the upstairs and because it is so smokey I can't open the windows.  I have never looked at the weather and seen "smokey" as the forecast.

I did take some time out on Sunday and make some curry for dinner.  I made Creamy Coconut Chickpea Curry with Corn and Zucchini.  It was terrific!  Just what I needed on a hot day.

I like hot weather but it has been tough with all this smoke. My thoughts go out to those who are in such pain from these fires and fighting these fires.

Until tomorrow...

RUFFLES DELIVERY

I finally got a delivery of chips that includes Ruffles.  Ruffles have always been my favorite chip.  I love Ruffles and dip.  Now that I don't really eat sour cream, I occasionally make dip from dairy-free "sour cream" or I buy a "cream cheese" dairy-free dip.  I just love it when I have it so I have to buy it sparingly. I will eat almost the whole thing!  No, not really but I eat more than the recommended serving size.

I bought two bags of Ruffles.  I kept it civilized and only bought two bags.  I was afraid if I bought more I would eat too many since I have not had a Ruffle chip since about March.  I have been eating them sparingly.

KENTUCKY DERBY

Wow! What a Kentucky Derby this year! Horses dropping out and one of the top horses (Thousand Words) and the Assistant Trainer getting hurt right before the race starts. Then the biggest post favorite in 30 years, Tiz the Law, doesn't win and placed in second place.  Authentic won in 1-1/4 lengths.  It was a blow out for the Derby.  John Velazquez won his third derby!  Authentic paid $18.80, $6.00 and $5.00.  As I explained to my foster son, if you bet one dollar, you got back $18.80 dollars if you picked Authentic to win.

It was an exciting two minutes and I look forward to it every year.  Next up the Preakness.

Until tomorrow...

DELIVERY MISHAP #2

I went to eat some ice cream and much to my surprise, the pint of ice cream was real ice cream not vegan ice cream.  I found out three spoonfuls in.  Yuck!  Ben & Jerry's regular ice cream and vegan ice cream packaging is quite similar so I didn't notice it when it arrived.  I just checked to see if I got the number when it arrived.  Two of my pints are regular ice cream.

I called the market and let them know and then gave me my money back.  I will be more careful to check in the future.  It is hard when someone is doing your shopping for you.

Until tomorrow...

DELIVERY MISHAP

After painstakingly getting the lock changed on the gate and having the alarm company come and getting the lock box, do you think the fruit and veggie delivery guy put the fruit and veggie box inside the gate last night? The answer is a resounding NO.

Luckily I was awake when he delivered it early (I thank them for that) at around midnight.  I heard the thump when he dropped the box down.  I looked through my camera and saw the box and went upstairs to see if he was still there (in my pajamas). He was in his truck organizing the rest of his boxes.  I called out to him and asked him if he had instructions telling him to use the lock box on this gate to put the box inside the gate.  He looked and said YEAH.  So, why didn't you???  I didn't see them.  Oh, okay.

I took the box inside and darn it, I didn't get my cauliflower.  I think it was the full moon.

This morning I emailed the company and got a call back almost immediately asking me for more information.  The very nice person wanted to hear the whole story (I couldn't write it all in the complaint because they only allowed 300 characters) and was annoyed that the person "had no common sense" considering the lock box was in the photo he took when he dropped off the box.  She was also annoyed he was not wearing a mask this week or last week against company protocol. Last week he came within 6 feet of me also against company protocol.  Just to be clear, I had my back to him installing the lock box on the gate and he walked up on me and before I could get inside, he was too close to me. The Rep said she would have his supervisor talk with him. I also got a refund for the cauliflower that was missing.  Oh, well.  What can I do?

Until tomorrow...

UPHOLDER

Years ago I did a project called the Happiness Project.  It was from a book called The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin.  She has written other books and recently I heard her speak on a video from Yale University.  I checked out her webpage and podcast.  I also took a quiz to see what type of person I am.  I usually don't like to take these types of personality tests but this one was not a personality test per se and was super easy and fast.

I found out I am an Upholder. An upholder is held accountable by themselves or by others, meets deadlines, and keeps their word. The types are questioner, rebel and obliger.  It was interesting to read about the types.

Keeping a positive attitude is part of my goals for the near future.

Until tomorrow...

ROCKETBOOK PANDA PLANNER

Today starts my new plan.  I have been working for weeks on my new Rocketbook Panda Planer.  Basically it is a combination of a Rocketbook (a reusable writing tablet) and a Panda Planner (a unique planner that helps to balance motivation, inspiration, system—or whatever it is that you need—to set aside your stress and challenges, start living a fulfilling life, and crush your goals).

It works in 3 month increments to set goals and then in 3 months see where you are with those goals and readjust if you need to.  Since the Rocketbook is reusable, just erase the pages you need to and rewrite them.

I set some goals for the time we are in Covid-19.  I have the first 3 month goals set out with priorities and habits.  I am ready to go.  I made an agreement with myself to do my best to complete the goals.

My goals are to exercise, keep in contact with friends and keep a positive attitude.  Attainable goals.  I will check in periodically.

 Until tomorrow...
