I started watching Couple to Throuple. It is a show on Peacock a bit like the Bachelor. Committed couples arrive at a resort where a group of singles were waiting. The couples then choose a single to join to make a throuple. I just found it fascinating and couldn't turn it off. <div><br></div><div>I ended up ordering food because I wanted it after my COVID vaccine on Friday. </div><div><br></div><div>My heels are hurting me SO much. I can't wait to go to the foot doctor. I don't know what she will do. I even bought a different foot brace to wear to sleep. The other foot brace would hurt my foot a few hours after I put it on. This new one didn't hurt for a few more hours. I'll give it a few more tries. </div><div><br></div><div>I also tried Melotonin for the first time. I fell asleep and stayed asleep but woke up with a headache. I didn't know that was a side effect.</div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div><div><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-56776781106314819652024-03-15T22:12:00.001-07:002024-03-15T22:12:36.915-07:00EIGHTH COVID VACCINE I got another COVID vaccine. It is my eighth. Being immunocompromised is no joke. I'm a bit tired from the shot.<div><br></div><div>I have been looking for insurance for my vacation. Last week my car started sputtering at a few stop signs. I don't know what is wrong but I am seriously thinking of a new car when I get back from my trip. <div><br></div><div>My fantastic brother spent time on the phone with me figuring out a few things for my trip. I couldn't figure out the GSP. I have a handheld GPS with an SOS button in case I get injured. We figured part of it out. </div><div><br></div><div>Then we helped me figure out how to listen to downloaded music in the van. I have a new app for music. </div><div><br></div><div>There is so much to get ready. </div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-14295109151651688592024-03-13T22:39:00.001-07:002024-03-13T22:39:35.278-07:00I GOT MY DECK BACKThe contractor came today to finally fix the second leak I my home. Turns out the leak was from an outdoor door frame above the area where the water was leaking. They took part of the deck off and sprayed gallons of water on the door and deck. They saw the water leaking downstairs. <div><br></div><div>They caulked the area where it was leaking with a plan to replace the door in the summertime. Then they put the deck back together. The area where it leaked below they left open with a fan blowing on it. In a few days it will be dry and I can turn the fan off. Next week they are coming to patch the ceiling when it is dry. </div><div><br></div><div>They also sealed the foundation where the water is leaking in. There is still one place where the water is leaking in and they will fix it next time. </div><div><br></div><div>I am so happy I can use my deck again. It was SO sunny today and that is the type of day I like sitting on the deck. </div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-48104966024558882302024-03-12T22:48:00.001-07:002024-03-12T22:48:44.699-07:00ONLY ONE SHOWED ARTHRITIS MEETINGTonight was my arthritis group meeting. It was my first time doing the whole thing myself. I made this whole presentation on advocacy because some folks were interested. <div><br></div><div>Only one person showed up! And she was not interested in advocacy. Wasted time making this presentation. I've decided we are going to do it like my other group where the participants take turns presenting. </div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-23180276581216572422024-03-11T22:44:00.000-07:002024-03-12T22:45:11.394-07:00CLIENTS ARE FREAKING OUTI'm now making sure the rental has everything I need and what I need to bring or buy. I changed all the clocks, did some things and sat down to watch the Oscars. My cousin called and we chatted while looking at the dresses on the red carpet. <div><br></div><div>I hung up and looked at my email. There was a message saying my reservation for my trip was cancelled. Six and one half weeks before I leave. I'll admit I broke into tears. Sobbing, I called my cousin who calmed me down. Then she went into beast mode. She googled rentals in my area while I called the company. I was going to get my money back and that was it. </div><div><br></div><div>After one half hour I had a new rental. I couldn't believe how fast I rented it considering how long it took me to rent the first one. It is much better in some ways and less fancy in others. I will survive and gave a great time. </div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-52142023542809711902024-03-09T22:24:00.000-08:002024-03-12T22:24:57.163-07:00TASKS ACCOMPLISHED I tackled a bunch of tasks today. First, I washed my hair with my new shampoo. I hope it works. <div><br></div><div>Then I used my manual washing machine to do a small load of laundry. I washed 2 t-shirts, a pair of jeans, PJs, 3 underwear and 3 socks. I used biodegradable laundry soap. I didn't rinse super well and there was a bit of the soap on a shirt. I rinsed it off. Overall the laundry smells clean. </div><div><br></div><div><div>

She looked at my bones. Things are not too peachy. I have osteopini and osteoporosis. Not good at all. I am going to have to take medicine to slow the bone loss. I don't want to break a hip. Or what happened to someone. They sneezed and broke their neck! <div><br></div><div>This is the start of a week of medical appointments. </div><div><br></div><div>I walked 6,706 steps today. It is a handheld Global Positioning System (GPS) for hiking, boating, etc. I am going on a trip where, to be safe, hence the GPS. <div><br></div><div>It is quite complicated to work but with weeks of trials, I'm sure I can get it working. It also has SOS with satellite. If I get injured or lost, I can push a button and help can find me. It started out when I walked to and from physical therapy. It is 1.1 miles each way. I'm in Physical therapy right now for my feet. I was in boots and one crutches for 8 weeks. They say my legs and feet have become weak. <div><br></div><div>One fun thing is a brace I wear on my right foot at night. That is 2.5 miles. I'm really trying to get out and walk up hill or stairs every day. I found out one of the places I am going has 700 steps. I'm getting tired just thinking about it. I also found out one of the places I am going, will have the main attraction closed this summer. <div><br></div><div>It's been a long day. The highlight is that my handyman built a shelf for my paint. I used to have a pink cabinet but it fell apart.</div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-19562162793022316962024-02-26T21:43:00.001-08:002024-02-26T21:43:36.793-08:00TRIGGERING POSTToday I went back to the podiatrist for my foot. This maybe disgusting to some people so you can skip. <div><br></div><div>Back in September I fell while hiking in Yosemite. I broke my right foot and tore the ligament in my left ankle. I also smashed my big toe nail. It was all bruised and then over the months, the nail started to almost bubble up with blood underneath. </div><div><br></div><div>A few weeks ago, I went to the foot doctor about my broken foot and she looked at my big toe. By that point, my nail had started to hurt and the nail looked funny. The doctor said I cracked the nail down at the base of my nail. She clipped the part of the nail that was cracked and starting to stick up with some fancy clippers. </div><div><br></div><div>Fast forward to today. She decided that I probably cracked the nail further down below the skin/cuticle. She took some fancy metal thing and started digging under the skin/cuticle to pull out the broken part of the nail. It was not fun. She found these little pieces of nail under the skin that were poking me. It was quite painful especially since the area was already sore. </div><div><br></div><div>Hopefully this fixes it but if it doesn't, I need to return two weeks before my next trip so she can be more aggressive and I will have time to heal before my next trip. </div><div><br></div><div>I now have a brace that I sleep in to hold my foot perpendicular. I have pads in my shoes under my toes. I have gel heel pads in my shoes. Nothing makes you feel old like orthodic items in your shoes. I guess nurses shoes are next. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Yes I still watch DVDs sometimes. I can watch new movies months before they come out on streaming. You can't beat free movies. <div><br></div><div>On my way back I stopped by the hardware store to buy Coleman fuel. I need the Coleman fuel for my super old Coleman stove. I camped with this stove with my family as a kid. I plan on cooking on my stove when I go camping. </div><div><br></div><div>I came back, and after a bath, I worked on my taxes again. </div><div><br></div><div>I walked 8,200 steps which is 4 miles today. I'm trying to increase the number of steps each week. Last week I walked 39,883 Steps. That is 16.62 miles. </div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...<br><div><br></div><div><br></div></div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-91644901356338988402024-02-24T22:41:00.001-08:002024-02-24T22:41:42.239-08:00ANOTHER HIKEI started today with a 2.8 mile hike. It was almost all the way uphill. I had to walk to the park uphill and then the park inclined 530 feet about sea level. It had beautiful views. <div><br></div><div>I was supposed to work on my taxes but instead, I made chocolate-peanut butter protein bars. </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Lucky needed a bath and since it was our first sunny day in weeks, in the bath she went. She is now fluffy and smells nice. </div><div><br></div><div>I decided to make a vegan bake with potatoes, sweet potatoes, kale and vegan hot dogs. Delicious! </div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Since I walked earlier, my step count was 2.5 miles today. <div><br></div><div>I went to the dentist office because they called to tell me there were Invisalign retainers for me. I didn't even know I was getting invisalign retainers, because I already have a mouthguard. There seems to be a bit of confusion as to why they suddenly showed up. But I took them and I can use them in the future to keep my teeth straight. </div><div><br></div><div>I sent my ex-foster kid present in the mail since he moved into his own apartment. It is two teenage cookbooks so he can start cooking food for himself.</div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-322633642106455190.post-58265508397389361302024-02-22T21:43:00.000-08:002024-02-22T21:44:05.740-08:009 WEEKS UNTIL MY BIG TRIPI am not sure if I mentioned this before, but I am going on a big trip. I leave in 9 weeks and I am so excited. <div><br></div><div>Every day I do more planning for the trip. I have maps and books. I've made spreadsheets and I have a box with things I need to bring. </div><div><br></div><div>Today was moving day for my ex-foster son. He moved into his own but supportive apartment. I could not assist in the move but we video called and I got to see his place. I bought him two presents a month ago. The present is two cookbooks for teens. </div><div><br></div><div>Today was finally mostly sunny. I went for a two mile walk. </div><div><br></div><div>Until tomorrow...</div>adriennehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14954642302458963986noreply@blogger.com1
