A blog about my life with rheumatoid arthritis and all that goes along with it. The ups and downs. The highs and lows. The laughter and the tears. Sounds so dramatic, doesn't it?!

VEGAN EGG SCRAMBLE
I do not have jury duty tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't have it on Wednesday too.
I am very stiff today. I tried to relax all day but I had to work.
I made a new thing for dinner: Vegan Egg Scramble made from a new product made from tofu. I added green beans, leftover zucchini and squash from the other night and corn off the cob. It was really good. I was so surprised. I always hated eggs so this was a nice surprise. I tried it because my neighbor gave it to me.
That is basically my whole day. I am working on feeling better but it seems to be going the other way. I think my stress is not helping.
Until tomorrow...

THEY PROMISED TO MOVE ALONG
Another day with no cooking. Ugh. But I got a good review from both my neighbor and my dog walker for the chocolate cereal bars. My dog walker wanted more of them but I forgot to give them to him. My neighbor came by for some and she sent me a text saying they are great.
Today I got some more deliveries for my chocolate chapter so I can begin making some of the recipes. I also got my COVID test kit. I will now have one on hand.
I found out I was granted my postponement for jury duty. I am good for a couple of months.
I was working today and I kept hearing someone talking. I thought it was my neighbor outside on the phone. But then I listened and it didn't make sense. I looked outside and there was a male sitting on my steps. I asked him if he needed anything. He said he wanted something to drink. I asked him what he wanted. He said a soda. I said If I give you a soda will you move along? He said yes. I got a Sprite and some snacks and put them in a bag. I put it on my steps and told him it was for him. Now take it and move along. He asked what type of soda is it? I said goodness you are mighty picky for someone getting a free soda and snacks. He took the soda and some of the snacks and left. Then a few hours later I hear this talking. He was back but in another spot. I leaned out the window and said Hello. He said do you have any... I said I already gave you soda and snacks and you promised to move along. What are you doing back here? He got up and moved along. I hope this is not a situation where when you feed and water they keep returning. I was trying to be humane and nice.
I attended a zoom webinar about how to frost cupcakes to look like flowers. I am excited to practice my new skills.
I made a fabulous stir-fry for dinner with noodles, tofu, spinach, bok choy, pine nuts, and carrots with a sauce.

CLEARED OUT MY PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO/GUEST ROOM
I am feeling better today. I guess I was just tired.
Today I had a ton of energy and I decided to clear out my photography studio/guest room. The room had used as a drop zone for everything. It had empty boxes, full boxes, things I bought that I didn't have room for yet and all my photo equipment. Plus, I realized a while ago that the bed had never been made so the sheets and blanket were in a drawer taking up necessary space.
Today I took everything off the bed, made the bed, and only put my photography equipment on the bed. I have my two photo set ups on the bed. I have a lightbox on one side and softbox lights on the other side. I made a makeshift set up in which to take photos. I just love photography.
The room is now light and airy. I am happy to be in the room. I recycled many boxes and junk.
I spoke to my ex-foster child for their birthday. Their birthday was yesterday but I knew they would be busy so I waited until today. It was good to hear from them.
I just called for jury duty. That is not going to happen. I sent in for a postponement. I have six months. We will have to see how the world is in six months.
Until tomorrow...

I GOT KICKED OUT OF JURY DUTY
We listened to the judge give us instructions. She was very nice (not like the last judge I was in front of two years ago) and told us this case was going to be 14 business days long. If anyone had a hardship, she would entertain it. But first if we didn't have a hardship or was happy to be on a jury, take a slip and come back tomorrow.
I had a hardship so I filled out the form for a hardship waiver. I explained I am a consultant and my work and livelihood depends on me working. I also explained that I am taking a Shingles shot this Friday and I may not be well enough to come to sit in a jury all day on Monday. The judge gave me a waiver and I was let go. I am free for two years. Yay! I was out in less than 1.5 hours. Woo Hoo!
Until tomorrow...

NO JURY DUTY YET
I tried to buy Happi's special food online but they said they were out of stock. I called the vets office and they will not get any until Friday. I found a place where I can buy it by the can. I went and bought 8 cans. Next time I will need to buy it much earlier.
Until tomorrow...

TAKING DOWN CHRISTMAS
The dentist called today to see how I was doing. My tooth hurts a bit when I drink cold water but that is it.
I ran some errands today in preparation for the bad weather. It is supposed to rain for 6 days starting tomorrow. I am so not excited about that.
The good news is that I checked and I don't have jury duty on Monday. I have to check every day about the next day. One day down.
Until tomorrow...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
It is a little dark because it is dusk and I don't have the best camera for taking photos at dusk. This is so funny to me. Happy Valentine's Day, bring your pillow and beat the crap out of people. Show your love! Anyway, I can now say I have seen it.
Here is a photo of Happi's belly. She had to have it shaved and now it is itchy. Poor thing!
Today I was called in for jury duty. I was on jury duty call all week and each day I had to call in to see if I had to show up. Someone was looking over me because with Happi being in the hospital, I was not called until today. I reported for service with a backpack full of snacks, lunch, water, Ipad, magazine, Ipod, etc. I was ready to sit around for hours. Of course I was the second name called and told to report to a court room. About 70 of us go to a court room. The judge tells us we are here to be chosen for an asbestos case that will take 1.5 months. Huh?! I can't be on a jury for 1.5 months. I work for myself. I can't go that long with no income. I spoke with the judge and after a little convincing she gave me a waiver and I was excused. Phew!
I am ready for this week to end. Tomorrow I take Lucky to get her shots and to meet the new pet sitter. It is a day of Lucky! Then I run a thousand errands to get ready for the party.
Oh, did I mention I am having a party? I decided to have a party in a few weeks. I almost cancelled it when Happi got sick but now that she is doing better, the party is on. I ordered the food today and tomorrow and I am getting a bunch of stuff. If it all works out, it could be cool.
Until tomorrow...
