A blog about my life with rheumatoid arthritis and all that goes along with it. The ups and downs. The highs and lows. The laughter and the tears. Sounds so dramatic, doesn't it?!

I began making the chocolates for an event I am going to. I want to make samples to give out. I've also been asked to make a few boxes for a raffle.

Well, filling out business forms should be a college class. These forms are so confusing and there's so many of them that I'm tired. There are a few moments that I feel like throwing in the towel but I need to persevere.

Today is my Name Day "the dark one" literally "from the city Hadria" in French. Your name day is a tradition in Europe. Since I learned about this tradition, I try to celebrate each year. It is supposed to be an extra birthday.
I also made an extra batch of chocolates.
Until tomorrow...

Quick one today. Just acknowledging is the first day of autumn. I love autumn when the leaves turned in the trees. I also do not like waking up the leaves. So I have a dilemma.

I've been helping my foster kid with his first couple weeks of college homework. It's just so hard to not want to do it for them but he needs to learn to do it himself. I've limited my help to edits and not projects. Even so he keeps calling it "our homework" instead of "my homework". I'll be careful. They're reading Plato and Socrates. Ugh.

Today is the day that I went down to the tax department in my area to apply for a business license. I think I may have mentioned it before that I am trying to start a new business selling chocolates. There's a tremendous amount of paperwork involved and hopefully I will still have a desire to do it once I get all this paperwork done. Wish me luck

Today is covid vaccination day. I can't remember if I've now had eight or nine vaccines. I start to lose track. But since I had my vaccine today I'm taking it easy. I'm hoping I won't have many side effects.

As usual today is a day of remembrance. I think about where I was on 9/11. I was living on the West Coast but my family still lived on the East Coast in New York. I think about how no one could get a hold of my father for many hours but then I was able to get a hold of him from the West Coast. He was fine and working and had not heard what had happened. I still think about that day and how close we were to losing my father.

I had my arthritis group tonight. It ran over so I am a bit rushed. As usual the meeting had a good discussion. It is nice to meet with others who also have RA.

I called The Bee guy first thing this morning and he came over this afternoon. He searched the whole backyard and could not find any yellow jacket home. He thinks that it was a bit of a flyby by the yellow jackets. They may have a home close by on either one of my neighbors properties. We don't know.
I was speaking to a friend on zoom and she asked to look at my arm and she convinced me that I needed to call a doctor. My arm is red, hot, swollen and itchy. The doctor telemed with me to see what it look like. I was told to take two Zyrtec today put cold compresses on it and try and keep it elevated. She also had me draw a circle around the red spot and let her know if it's significantly outside the sharpie line. As the day went on it did go about a quarter of an inch out but currently right now it is much more out. I'll let her know in the morning.
One of my clients had a meeting with me today and informed me that they're ending my contract. As a consultant you kind of get used to this but sometimes it's hard when it seems like it comes out of the blue. But I'm trying to think about it as I'll be able to spend more time with other clients and working on my chocolate business.
I made some more chocolates this evening. Let's hope they're good.
Until tomorrow...
