POSTED MY NIECE'S BIRTHDAY PRESENT

I finally got my 12 yr old niece's birthday present in the post. I bought it in Hawaii. It is two flower hair clips. They are Okika - 'Orchids' and they are blue to match her hair. I hope she likes them. She will probably laugh because I had to use a box that formally housed dog poop bags. She may think I sent her 💩 bags!! That is until she opens it. 

I walked around the block today without any boot or brace or cane. Let's see how my foot feels tomorrow.

NEIGHBOR'S BIRTHDAY

I thought I had a meeting today but alas I could not get into the zoom. At 10 past the hour I gave up. I was a bit annoyed because I scheduled my whole day around this meeting and then I could not attend. 

I dropped slices of cake off at two neighbors homes. Then another neighbor told me it was his birthday and I had two slices for him when he stopped by. I also made him a birthday card. I didn't ask how old he was but his husband was in the military in the early 1970's. I figure they are in their mid seventies.

VEGAN SWISS ROLL

I decided today to make a cake. I saw some Swiss rolls on a baking show and thought, I can make that. I took two recipes and combined them. I think it turned out well. It is a chocolate cake with a vegan ermine buttercream. The cake is so moist and there was too much buttercream. 

It may not look great but it tastes delicious!!

DOCTOR APPOINTMENT

This morning I went to my Concierge doctor. A bunch of things came up. I have weird red dots on my legs. My elbow still hurts from my slip in Yosemite. I have a plan for each item. 

My doctor is so great.

ARTHRITIS MEETING

Today was another Arthritis meeting. It is always interesting to be in the group. I got some good ideas for future meetings.

HOME

I moved into my home 19 years ago today. It doesn't seem like it has been this long. I think about how the house changed over the years. I did a giant renovation, redid the backyard, put in new fences, and moved my office from one room to another. I am very comfortable in this home.

ARTHRITIS GROUP SCHEDULE

Today with another busy day of catching up on work after my trip to hawaii. After work and meditation, I had an arthritis group meeting. As one of the facilitators I am working to plan the schedule for 2024. I think I've got the whole year mapped out. The next meeting in December will be a holiday virtual gathering. We put together a holiday bingo, holiday attire and bring your own tea and cookies. It should be fun.

It's a monday. All my clients have decided that they should send me tons of work today. I've been working for hours. Not much else to say.

PICK UP PETS

Today is laundry and reuniting with pets day. Lucky got dropped off late morning. She looks a bit frail. I think I need to give her some TLC. 

Lucky and went to pick up some of the bird from the boarding place. Sunny was reluctant to get out of the cage at the boarding place but finally he relented. I asked them to do a pedicure, wing clip and beak clip. Well the guy was doing a wing clip he noticed that there was a weird feather in his right wing. He pulled the feather and it turned out it was a blood feather. When a blood feather is pulled a bird bleeds a lot. He stemmed the bleeding and sunny was okay. We took him home.

That was basically my Sunday recuperating from my trip.

DAY 8 HAWAII

I woke up at 5 am. I woke up early every day in Hawaii. I don't know why. I finished packing and ate breakfast. Then I got on the road. 

I left plenty of time to do the 2 hour drive to the airport. I did this on purpose so I could stop and do something near Kona. I saw a rainbow and that is a sign I need to come back. 

I found a beach that I could park and sit down. I was just sitting down when my friend called me from Europe. I ate a sandwich I made earlier. Then I drove to the airport. 

I got a wheelchair right away and sat until we boarded the airplane. It was a calm flight mostly because I have noise cancelling headphones. I had a wheelchair at the other end and next thing I know I was at home. I unpacked and got into bed.
