TRIP - DAY 20

I woke up late this morning. After last night's drive in the dark, I needed some sleep. I actually slept until 8 am.

I drove to the Dinosaur NM. It is a lesser know park but so incredibly beautiful. It was 20 minutes from my campsite. The park is famous for it's fossil wall.

Black Canyon of the Garrison was next. It was very unique. Then I went for a scenic drive around the park. The rocks were beautiful.

Sunny and I stopped for lunch at a cabin owned by Josie who lived there by herself back in the early 1900s. After lunch I went on a short hike. Since the fan in the van doesn't work, I was afraid to leave Sunny too long. I have to figure out a solution or I won't be able to leave Sunny for very long. I have the Waggle to monitor the temperature and that is good. I saw wild turkeys, a golden squirrel and I'm pretty sure I saw a fox in the tall grass.

That picnic in the shade with water flowing in a small forest was so relaxing.

Then I got on the road. But not without an issue. There was no cell service and I did not have my directions. I ended up going almost 30 minutes out of the way before I called my brother who looked up the directions and set me straight. But I already lost 1 hour with that mistake. Then I had to go over a pass (mountain range) and I got behind two huge trucks carrying big circular tanks. They were going 20 miles an hour to be safe but we couldn't pass on the treacherous road that had a double yellow line.

I got to the campsite late (again). The folks were super nice. I haven't checked out too much here but I brought Sunny outside in his bubble to eat dinner. It was 71 degrees. Quite a change from two days ago.

Until tomorrow...

After that short hike.
