You Don't Look Sick - Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis

A blog about my life with rheumatoid arthritis and all that goes along with it. The ups and downs. The highs and lows. The laughter and the tears. Sounds so dramatic, doesn't it?!

About Me

My photo
adrienne
WELCOME! I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis over 20 years ago but I know I had it for longer. I was lucky that once the symptoms became evident, I was diagnosed quickly and put on medication. I know that makes me one of the lucky few. I have a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's Syndrome, Pernicious Anemia, Raynaud's Disease, and Interstitial Cystitis. I live with a dog (Lucky, "little dog") and bird (Sunshine, Sunny for short). I had a dog named Happi (the "Big Dog") who passed away early March 2020 prior to the Covid-19 lock down. I miss her horribly. I had a foster son ("the kid") living with me for a bit of time. I am fortunate to work for myself as a consultant after working for many years at "regular 9-5" jobs. This blog was created to tell my story and to help others understand and learn more about the world of RA/chronic autoimmune diseases. It will be a place of education, advocacy, storytelling and humor. And lots of laughter! They say it is the best medicine (after Prednisone and Orencia)! The information on this blog should not be construed as medical advice. Please consult a physician for any medical needs.
